BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

18" long resin Battlestar Galactica from the original 1978 television series produced by Glen Larson.

The model was painted a light gray base coat and then covered with a series of darker wash to weather the hull and bring out the raised details. Graphic tape and red acrylic paint were used for the pinstriping. Small black plastic circles were cut using a leather punch and added to the launch tubes. Frosted plastic backed with yellow adhesive vinyl sheet was mounted behind the rear engine piece. To complete the project, a wood plaque and brass support rod were added to display the model.

MOEBIUS ORIGINAL SERIES COLONIAL VIPER

14" long Moebius Colonial Viper model was basecoated in Ghost Gray overall with several individual panels airbrushed in various lighter and darker colors with Metallic Gunmetal in the exposed engine parts.  Heavy weathering was added using sanding the decals, washes. airbrushing and pastel chalks in black and several shades of gray and brown.  LED lighting was applied to the rear engine exhausts and the cockpit was fitted with fiber optics.  The model is powered by 2 AAA batteries and runs on a magnetic reed switch housed under the display base.  There was no room in the kit supplied base for any wiring so a spare part from a Polar Lights model was used.   The base was airbrushed to resemble an alien planet.
